Vital Farms, CFO grant $127,196 for food access, ag education

July 17, 2026

Grants supported by Vital Farms’ corporate grantmaking fund

Vital Farms, through its corporate grantmaking fund at the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, granted $127,196 to eight agencies in its 22-county service area in Missouri. The grant-funded projects align with Vital Farms’ purpose of improving the lives of people, animals and the planet through food, and its commitment to support the communities where its network of more than 625 family farmers live and work.

The eight agencies receiving funding are:

  • Center for Human Services: $15,000 to support the Bloom Beyond Project to transform a once-dormant greenhouse in Sedalia into a hub for inclusive horticultural education, vocational training and community engagement.
  • GOTURSIX.org: $15,500 to install cold-storage infrastructure and an on-site structure to support the Wright County Farm Stop in Hartville.
  • Humansville R-IV School District: $6,140 to expand resources for special education students to develop STEM and family and consumer science skills, while improving food security, fostering selfsufficiency, addressing community poverty and replacing outdated kitchen equipment.
  • Missouri Environmental Education Association: $15,000 to support the launch of a professional development initiative that equips educators at rural schools with the tools, knowledge and confidence to teach regenerative agriculture.
  • Ozarks Food Harvest: $3,655 to continue general food distribution, including retail donation pick-ups, across southern Missouri.
  • Springfield Community Gardens: $30,000 to purchase and install two refrigeration units at Ozarks Farm Stop.
  • Springfield Public Schools: $38,848 to purchase a blast freezer to preserve locally grown produce for use throughout the school year.
  • Willard Children’s Charitable Foundation: $3,053 to purchase a new coop, feed and bedding for elementary school chicken programs at Willard Public Schools.
