Grantmaking

Annual grant supports innovative projects for Greene County seniors

The Community Foundation of the Ozarks presented a $40,000 grant to the Greene County Senior Citizens’ Services Fund on Jan. 27, continuing a longstanding funding partnership. The funds for the grant came from five field-of interest funds established by donors to support senior-related programs:

  • Julia A. Boyce Memorial Fund
  • Hazel and Christine Pauly Fund
  • Ida Rolf Fund
  • Jean Cossey Woodruff Fund
  • Lloyd and Marceleta Ray Fund

Chuck Marinec, board chair for the GCSCSF, accepts the grant from Bridget Dierks, Vice President of Programs for the CFO.

This grant supplements the property tax funds collected by Greene County that are designated for the Senior Citizens’ Services Fund. The Senior Services Fund Board then makes its own grants to innovative projects, services and programs throughout the year to improve the quality of life for residents aged 60 and older. Recently, grant funding from the Senior Citizens’ Services Fund helped launch Give 5, a program to pair seniors with volunteer opportunities at local nonprofit agencies.
