Grant funding bolstered by Springfield’s hotel/motel tax
Two arts and culture grant programs are now open for application through the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. The programs will support member agencies of the Springfield Regional Arts Council in Springfield and across SRAC’s 27-county service area.
The SRAC Arts and Culture Operating Support program will use a request-for-proposal process to grant $20,000 a year for three years to five agencies. Funded through the City of Springfield’s hotel/motel tax, applicants must be Springfield-based members of SRAC. The grants will supplement the recipient’s operating budget with the goal of increasing travel and tourism in Springfield. If renewal criteria are met, this grant program will total $300,000 over the three years.

The Arts and Culture Program Support program, totaling $115,000, is open to SRAC member agencies across its 27-county service area in southwest Missouri. The program is supported by the CFO and the Musgrave Foundation, along with $25,000 in hotel/motel tax funds dedicated to Springfield-based agencies. Agencies may apply for up to $10,000 in programming support to advance advocacy, education, collaborative projects, access to the arts and related projects.
To be eligible, agencies must be members of SRAC and a 501(c)3 nonprofit or a municipal, educational or faith-based organization with similar tax-exempt status with a primary mission in the arts.
Agencies can find more information at springfieldarts.org/grants and begin the application process at cfozarks.org/applyforgrants. The deadline for both programs is 11:45 p.m. on April 25.
Grants will be determined by SRAC’s arts and culture grant review committee. Recipients will be announced in early June.
