Vital Farms Local Impact Grantmaking Program

In partnership with the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, Vital Farms has launched the Vital Farms Local Impact Grantmaking Program to support projects that will improve their farmers' communities in the following focus areas: 

• Animal Welfare
• Improving Access to Food / Transparency in Food Systems
• Youth & Education
• Agriculture

With a total of $125,000 to award, grant proposals are accepted according to an announced timetable, and grant recommendations are made as funds are available. 501(c)3 organizations or other IRS approved entities (government entities, school districts and churches) serving the following counties in Missouri are eligible to apply: Adair, Bates, Benton, Cedar, Cooper, Dade, Dallas, Greene, Howard, Howell, Laclede, Lawrence, Moniteau, Morgan, Oregon, Pettis, Polk, St. Clair, Texas, Vernon, Webster, Wright.

Wounded War Veterans Grant Program

The Wounded War Veterans Grant Program seeks to provide funding for programs that serve the needs of our wounded war veterans. This grant supports a nonprofit agency located in Southwest Missouri that provides programming to support wounded war veterans. Equipment, programming, or training to assist in supporting these individuals are eligible for application.

This grant will provide $2,200 to one agency in the summer of 2026. Lead applicant agencies must be nonprofit 501(c)3 organizations, government entities, school districts, or tax-exempt faith-based organizations.

Dan Armstrong Legacy Foundation Grant Program

Established in loving memory of educator and coach Dan Armstrong, the Foundation provides financial assistance to schools and organizations providing opportunities for local youth to improve their athletic skills, enhance basic fundamentals of their sports, and support character development. 

Grants from the Foundation provide support for sports camps and clinics, instruction fees, equipment and uniforms for Carthage area youth.

The Holocaust Education Grantmaking Program seeks to support educators, faith leaders, and concerned individuals to visit and learn at either the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum or the United States Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C by supporting travel expenses. 501(c)3 organizations or other IRS approved entities (government entities, school districts and churches) are eligible to apply.

• Applicants who serve the CFO service area are encouraged to apply.
• Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the funds are fully spent or the program closes on May 1, 2026.
• Applications are reviewed within about eight to ten weeks of submission.

Hope for the Journey Foundation for Cancer Treatment Support

The Hope for the Journey Foundation provides non-medical financial support to patients facing a life-altering cancer journey and their families. Applications for assistance are based on current or ongoing consequences of treatment related to cancer and will be evaluated by a committee after completion of this form and verification from your health care provider concerning your cancer status. Preference is given to those residing in Greene, Christian, Taney, Stone, Barry, Lawrence, and Newton counties. The maximum amount available is $1,000. Information provided in this application is strictly confidential and will be used only for the purpose of grant-making by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. The CFO pays to invoice only. Cash will not be provided.

Rapid Response Grant Program

This opportunity, which is open to the CFO’s entire service area, provides one-time support to agencies with urgent, unanticipated needs such as: loss of federal and/or state funding, natural or man-made disasters, time-sensitive opportunities for collaboration or innovation, etc. 

Important notes to consider before applying: 

• 501(c)(3) organizations or other IRS approved entities (government entities, school districts, and churches) serving the CFO's service area are eligible to apply.
• This is a one-time grant. Agencies may not submit multiple requests in the same fiscal year.
• The maximum request amount is $3,000.00.
• Final reports will be due 6 months after funding is awarded.

Completed and submitted applications will be sent to the committee for review the first Tuesday of each month.
