Houston CF Completes Hunger Challenge
The Texas County Food Pantry received additional funding of $9,600 after successfully completing the Ozarks Million Dollar Hunger Challenge II. The Houston Community Foundation, in conjunction with Walmart State Giving Foundation and Ozarks Food Harvest, completed the matching initiative in October. It will provide roughly $90,000 worth of food for Texas County families.
Houston Meets the Challenge for Students, Scholarship
Houston R-1 Education Foundation representatives accept a $12,000 Cooper grant.
Proving the point that the schools can be the lifeblood of a small town, the Houston R-1 Education Foundation came through in a big way during the Cooper Phase II Challenge. The Community Foundation
of the Ozarks awarded $12,000 to the foundation for successfully completing the Harry Cooper Supply Company Campaign for the Ozarks challenge to build rural education endowments.
The Houston R-1 Education Foundation raised $28,786 to receive the matching funds. The total of $40,786 has been designated for the Houston R-1 Educational Foundation Endowment Fund and the George and Nancy Boesl Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The scholarship fund originally was established by the First Baptist Church of Houston and has since been moved to the Houston Community Foundation and the Houston R-I Education Foundation.
