On Saturday night, the Marshfield Area Community Foundation and more than 400 members of the community they call home came together for a night of good food, good times and good grantmaking.
It was the biggest turnout yet for what is becoming an annual tradition in Webster County. Boots, Bands and BBQ was held for the second year in a row at Rustic Occasions, just east of the city. The festivities included music from The Eleventh Hour and The Mark Chapman Band, as well as silent and live auctions, food and drinks, and more. Former MACF president Rob Foster (who remains on the board) was honored with a framed drawing of cowboy boots by current MACF president Caroline Ames for his past and continuing service to the foundation.
“We’re giving Rob the boot,” Ames joked. “But not literally, we’re so glad he’s still with us.”
The highlight of the evening was the awarding almost $12,000 in community grants.
